Hey sassy gals! Cat here with a challenge!!! Yes an Olga challenge...well lets see here ladies...This is the amazing Olga San Juan...a 1940's actress with all the right curves & moves... I just adore her and her name so fit into something else i just adore...OLGA'S!!!

Yes these Olga's! The amazing Vintage Olga nightgowns of yester years... Do you know about these gals??? Well let this kitten give you the scoop...You see this is it...the fool proof Olga nightie...this is by far the most flattering nightgown in history! And kittens i have 9 of them...why you ask?...take a peek...

You see gals Vintage Olga night gowns will fit almost any size...Really they do! & you will look sooooooooo good!! They are made of spandex and are amazingly comfy, cool, and dare i say it a lil' sexy kittens!

There have been many styles through out the years. Some of my favorite styles are from the 40's & 60's...each Olga has a style number on the tag & has a different pattern to the lace layout...some a lil showy & others very elegant and tasteful! Find your favorite style number...or like me...just love' em all ! I collect all different colors...& find them everywhere you just gotta know what to look for. The trick to the Olga...the spandex...and that they all have a back like this which gives much support for the chest and even the largest of chests don't need a bra...it's magic!

So gals...the challenge...get yourself an Vintage Olga nightgown! You won't be sorry...you will LOVE the way you look no matter what size you are! True story i gave one to a dear old friend who doesn't wear vintage clothing...i told her...try it you'll love Olga...grummmblin' she did...Shut the front door she screamed at me on the phone....I looooooove Olga nightys....she was a believer with one fitting...and wants more!!!!!

I'm Takin' a Lick out of the New Year

Heya gals...hows it goin' ? I hope you are all off to a rocken new start for this New Year...well i have to say i am takin' a big Lick out of it...I have been so busy...but sadly have gotten a lil' lame when it comes to remeberin' my camera...so to say the least these are with my phone...so not so great...but let me show ya a few things i have been up too...

well i have been flea market in' like a crazy woman...alas there have been no great finds...i feel the vintage clothes are slim pickins'...there have been times when this happens to me...so i know it will pass.....pleeez oh pleeez let this pass! teehee

now i did score my fruit Bakelite set...love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also scored 5 vintage japan fruit clusters from the 40's...i added them to my bag and a vintage pin...and made some awesome shoe clips!

this is a lil' thing i am workin' on...i am on the hunt for vintage salt shakers... i need about a million because i just can't have one stran of lights...so the hunt is on... and i will have to be patient...which this kitten is not...

I have started to collect vintage silver....i am findin' amazing pieces!!! old vintage crystal as well...as long as it has silver on it...i buy it~

we hit the open road for a lil' campin' trip with a couple of friends...we had a blast~ this is a horrid photo of 4 day camping in the dirt...but loved the fun& my vintage overalls...it was sooo cold!

lastly baby soccer chick rocken high school soccer....champions and undefeated all around...

She is lovin' the whole high school experience...here's to the Champs!! Anywho...this year is off to a big bang of a start...Daddyo & I have really been takin' some time...hittin' the date nights and hangin' with great friends...SO WE ARE HAVIN' A ROCKEN' NEW YEAR!!! Oh Christmas your' a comin'...& Oh i feel Wicked!

Oh Merry Christmas Kittens...wow is it comin' fast...11 days...wow...And i am feelin' real Wicked!now we always try and do a lil' somethin special for Christmas...a memory vs. things under the tree...well this past weekend we went to see the play Wicked for the girls Christmas surprise...Off to old Hollywood...for their first time...it was so exciting and after seeing this Hollywood sign they said they were so happy and could go home never seeing it before...teehee ...little did they know what was in store for them...

Daddy-o parked and told the lil kittens lets go walk the stars!!!....They were so excited to check out everyone...

We loved seeing our favorite actors...i was giddy at Desi

OOOOh and Mr. Hope...

This baby chick...just was singin' her ol 'pal Tennessee Ernie and was sayin' how she loved his deep deep voice...she was soooo excited...

We were all giddy...totally tourists...they thought this is so fun! But little did they know...

What was only steps in front of them! ...this moment happened...the moment when they were told...

We stopped right here...at told them to look up...right at the door at the Pantages Theatere...For Wicked!!!!!

The story of all stories for me...You all know how my favorite movie Is the Wizard of Oz...well when we heard it was comin' to LA...We had to go...

The girls couldn't believe it...the Pantages Theatere was amazing...

The ol' beauty of the walls...the red velvet...the gold trim...simply breathtaking...

The powder room was simply to die for! Ol Hollywood fashion indeed...

We had to walk the red carpet...ok the red stairs...teehee

And pretend that we were stars...So to say the least this play was amazing! It was simply my favorite so far...I cried like 4 times...and cried all the way to my car...wow what a special way to bring the Wicked into our holiday...

Merry Christmas Kittens!!!

Hello gals...Merry Christmas!!! I have been workin' my tushy off! teehee...well to say the least i have been gettin' all ready for the most wonderful time of year...This year i had to wait to decorate until this week because we had family and friends over...but now that December is here...oh honey I am rocken' around the Christmas tree...and sittin' by the fireplace where our stockin's are hung...This photo says it all gals...What ever it takes...get it done!!!! tee hee

I wanted to share some special things to me...I have many trees...but my very favorite decoration is this ol' soul... He is my very first decoration i put up...& when he goes up everyone is there... we all feel Christmas~y ! Very early in my marriage I saw this large hand made Mr. Claus... in an ol antique Christmas shop...well my breath was taken away!!!...but his price tag was $699.00...oh way to much for a young family!!

Well years and years later...I found him under my Christmas tree...I was shocked...Daddy-O had remembered how it took my breath away and contacted the artist...he worked side jobs so I wouldn't see the money coming out of the account and bought the last one before the artist passed away. I couldn't believe the sentiment of my Mr...and what a treasure this turned out to be...so he is very special to me and my family...Mr. Christmas indeed!

I am very rustic in a lot of my trees...I try and make my home look as though we are in the woods or a ol' log home kinda like The Little Women era...I enjoy the many many trees and their twinkle at night...we never use regular house lights...the trees light the whole house... and at last count i have 48...ya i know wow crazy...but early on I began collecting...to make my home magic.

Before we had our girls. i explained to Daddy-o that i wanted Christmas to be magical for them!! In decoratin' as well as tradition & sentiment...so I buy every good deal, rustic tree I can find...I even have a upside down tree that looks as though it coming out of the roof!

Tonight the traditions start...we read every night as a family Christmas books...i adore Christmas books they make you feel warm and snugly...we play Christmas games...and snuggle up with a Christmas movie...every week day night...all together...I try and slow us down during Christmas instead of the hustle and bustle of it all...it is very special with the smallest of effort...its magical

Now last week for Thanksgiving we went camping as we always do...this year we came across a Christmas festival of a small town...we enjoyed not only our camping time but the smells and sights of Christmas...

It was such a sweet and special time...just slowin' down and enjoyin' each other...This is miss Baby chick with her Daddy swing...every time we have ever gone camping...he makes her a swing...gettin' older i thought hmmmm...will she want one...well i came out of the trailer to see this sight...her swingin' on her Daddy swing....

So now that i shared a couple of my special moments...i cant wait to pop over to all you gals...for inspiration...some new traditions...and beautiful homes filled with Christmas spirit! Enjoy this time of year gals...As a mama...we create moments, sights, feelin's, & traditions...keep mindful durin' the hustle to stop & look around...you will enjoy the holiday far more...and be so blessed! Fun Fact Friday Turkey style...#16

Hey kittens...Happy Thanksgivin'...We are all gearin' up this weekend for some Turkey, Family & Friends here at my place. I woke up worrin' if my turkey would be defrosted...you know one of those panic in the middle of the night kinda thoughts...like its 10 am and your company is commin' at 2 and its frozen...oh my oh my...soooo I set out to find the Facts.

Now Fun Fact...if your turkey is still frozen place it in a cold bird bath..of water and ice...changin' the water every 30 minutes( breast down)...it should only take a few hours especially if its already been defrostin' in the fridge.. how easy is that...now a rule of thumb is 5 hours of defrostin' time per pound of Turkey in the fridge. But a cold bird bath is better than a fridge stay...hmmmm who knew!

Now we always have a traditional Turkey...and then a star one...this year we will try a BBQ Turkey...we went and got a turkey BBq...can't wait...what kinda turkey are you gals havin'...do tell do tell...Happy Thanksgivin' gals...Cat~

Heya kittens i thought to say Happy Halloween...I hope you all have a very fun weekend I thought to show you a few of my Halloween traditions for this weekend...starting off with my Wizard of Oz...which I watch every Halloween...its a tradition that we cuddle up with my very favorite movie of all time...

Next a few photos of some amazing parties...which we will be havin' a monster mash of a good time...we have two parties a night this weekend...ooooooooh what fun...

Next...oh my this is Marge...i hope she makes an appearance this weekend...she makes me sooo darn happy when i see her...I think this is the best costume my college chicky has ever had!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha...I can't stop lauphing!!!

Fun Fact Friday...

Hey kittens i thought i would do another Fun Fact Friday...this one i have soooo used...smelly sink...yuck...try runnin' very hot water down the drain...doesn't work...place 2 tsp. of baking soda in the drain...allow it to remain for a bit...then run more hot water...If it fails & still is smelly... place 1 cup vinegar & let stand for 20 minutes...that should do the trick! To keep it fresh right before company...i dice up a small lime or lemon...throw it down the drain switch the disposal on...& oh the smell is divine! A Big ol' Bust...& I live with a real life Princess!

Howdy gals...this is probably a disheartening' lil ol post...with a big ol' Bust attached! Me and my lil' cupcake trailer got an idea this past week...I said softly to Daddy-o...I wanna go to Texas for that big ol' junkin' week...You do? (me)yep...well ok i think i can get the time off...we don't have but three days to plan...(me)Oh i know exactly what to do...i've been dreamin' of this trip for years...lets just go Daddy o...

yep i started packen' ...a fun adventure to hit the open road with my lil' trailer and head on out to Warrington Texas for that big ol' junk'n frenzy at Zapp Hall...my dream of hangin' with the junk Gypsy's...and all my gals pals...was really gonna happen...yehaw!

I was packen' up my farm dresses...gettin my cowgirl boots out...oooh it was gonna be a blast...then it happened...Daddy o came home and said he had bad news I'm going out of town for work...what?? sad face =0(...well ok i will go by my self...me and my lil' trailer hitten' the open road...so i gave a holler to the gals...and got back to packen'...so excited...but then...stress...in the middle of the night...20 hours of drivin' by my self...ekkkkkkk...grrrrrr...ya..."a big ol' Bust!" I didn't go...so Im livin' through you all, a lil' ...as i check out all the junkin' goodness through all the pictures & blogs...what fun you all had...ok so til' next time you all better watch out...cuz I'm gonna get there real real soon!!! ;) I wont live with a "Big ol' Bust" on the books...tee hee...;)

NOW...A lil' Mama proud time...my lil' princess

I live with a real life Princess...Yep...my lil' Soccer chick...who is going to a new school had a visit in one of her classes...as a comity called her name she raised her hand ever so slowly...thinkin' she was in some sort of trouble...you know how you just feel that way even if you haven't done anything wrong...Well....they announce she was nominated Freshman Home coming Princess! oh my word!

Wow...she kept saying mom I dont' know hardly anyone at this school...mom why did they pick me... I didn't vote...I am new...I am sporty...Well darlin' you just shine & sparkle!!!! You get noticed because you radiate Jesus & you join groups that make a difference! She has had a wonderful time in high school so far and we are just so pleased to see her enjoy the spirit of a spirited high school. Now high school soccer is starting & she already got pulled up to Jv soccer as a freshman beatin' out 8 other goalies! Girly with a splash of grit...grrr! oh my word...hold on mama this is gonna be a ride! hahaha I love it!

Hey kittens...well how did that title get ya?...ummm...Ya...X Rated for sure! teehee..Now that summer is at an end...i wanted to share...a fresh drink that is totally my signature drink!...this is totally The Vintage Housewife...X RATED!... yummm I'm talkin' about this pure pink goodness...this is the cutest pink drink evah...and oh my everyone will want one at your next get together...de~lish passion fruit liquor!

...how sweet is the pink girly goodness....but hold the phone...it seems everyone at our shin digs was walkin' around with pink drinks...even the good ol boys! So the joke is... the guys all have to have... Cats pink drinks!...tee hee...it totally is my serving staple in my pink trailer cuz a gal has gotta have drinks for the gals who stop by right?! ;0)

So fresh and yummmy...this pink cocktail was a hit this summer... the wonderful drink recipe is...sooo easy...buy some X Rated...fill your glass with ice and about half the passion fruit liquor...add some sprite...wallah! Now add a lil' extra yumm...add some mango vodka...and oh my... nock ur daddy out! good!

Hey there Gals! So sorry for the lack of postin'...well to be honest I am just Breezing along...not sure where I wanna kick my boots off ! I have had so much to post about but no time to take a moment and write all the goods down...not to mention i got a new computer and well...my vintage photos are all on the old timer...so this is my first go at posting on the new youngin'...and not lovin' it...so be patient with me...

So I had this vintage add with a adorable young Lucy...simply put one of my favorite photos of her! I adore the down right country kick up your heals...gotta court me kinda dress! Next a day out as a family...my kiddos are growin' like weeds...hmmmm I like growin' like wild flowers better! A day out riddin' & picnic' n...lil' soccer chick always with her soccer ball in the back! Sisters...I gotta share God has done some amazing things in these lil' gals lives...simply put...they r growin' up & shocking me at their lives...I feel, i wasn't prepared for the blessings of watching them grow into women...I often watch in amazement!!! How is it that God would bless me so much buy their actions & hearts! It has been my true joy of being a mama!! To sit back and watch

Hey'a gals...I am a Winner Winner chicken dinner! Yahoooo...I just won the most adorable stinkin bag evah!!!

Can we safe-ly say..... I loveeeeeee leopard!!! So when i saw the most amazingly made adorable leopard stinkin junkin bag evah I thought this gal has it...she's amazin'! I just have to enter her Giveaway...I was swoonin' all over the place...now add a lil' Gypsy in to the mix...the whole reason i am lookin' for another trailer...shhhhhhhhh...i wanna be a Gypsy.so leopard and Gypsy...My oh MY...i just died! Now kittens you have just got to take a peek at this gals goods...they are romantic and fab-u-less! Toms Give Event...Irvine Ca.

Hey'a gals...i thought to share what we did last weekend...Toms Give Event in Irvine Ca...(missy sportin' her toms bag she made for the event) & her new hand painted shoes!

The Give Event is a event put on by Toms to support their shoe givein' & has local artists come out and give their time hand painted custom Toms shoes!...it totally rocked...and i wouldn't miss it evah again! Toms Shoes are just a lil' somethin' that our family supports & makes us feel a part of something bigger in this world...givin' shoes to those in need in far off places! wow how cool is that!

So this last weekend we surprised miss lil' soccer chick...with the event...she was running around the house screamin' that she could go to this amazing event! She just about died! I love her joy & here she is seen with her local artist that so sweetly hand painted her shoes! Her choice was an ol' world look with her favorite scripture in the background and a totally rocken' cross...with rosary that flows from one shoe to the other...so cool!

We all have really taken heart to the Toms movement...It feels so good to be a small part of a very big vision...and we even got Daddy-o to buy two pair that day...we all kept sayin' your given a child new shoes

Now first off...as a mama it does my heart so good...that she loves what they stand for...far more than what the fashion of them are...Miss sweetie was interviewed by Toms...and her biggest joy wasn't the fashion...but that she hoped everyone who bought a pair of Tom's thought about the child who was gonna get the other pair as they were purchased! ahhh heart =)

Also how she earns her money actually doing hard work just so she can buy more Toms! Thats my girl believe in somethin' and go whole with your heart & all the way!!!

Now these are mine...I thought to have a fun Rockabilly pair! I love my name on them! And cherries, roses, crosses & the leopard!!! hello leopard my favorite... =)
I was very thankful to my artist...for makin' such a rocken' pair for me!

So needless to say...it was a great Give away day...Thank you Tom's again for makin memories in this kittens family...so alas this picture is in my baby chicks room...her Tom's layout...there are two more pairs not pictured cuz of course she's wearin' one & one is still new in the box...and there are three more of us...all wearin' Toms...Its such a great thing! Your heart feels so good...from just an ol pair of shoes!

Fall Ya 'll...OH the Help!

Howdy gals!! Its been way too long on my part...so i thought to stop by and say Hey Ya'll! I sure hope you kittens are rocken' your summer...but oh honey...i am so over it! =0) I am ready for Fall to come on and get here already...Cooler mornin's with over cast and my newly painted home has made this lil' lady longin' for fall Ya'll!

I have been pullin' my rooten tooten cowgirl boots out, wearin' flour sack dresses and snugglin' up with warm candles and oh honey...This! OH Gals...squeeeeeeel! This darn book is the best read evah! Well to say the least.... i AM A BON-I-FIED born ALABAMA GIRL! And a early Louisi-ana livin' lady...So this book is totally up my alley for a good read...

Staged in the early 60's in Mississippi...these southern gals speak my language...I adore the Help and love how I dress just like um!!!!!!! Well the Help for sure...I was sneekin' a peek and findin' out that there are good ol' farm dresses and my eye spy'd a good ol' swirl wrap dress on one of the ladies...oh honey i was grinnin' ear to ear!

I am so darn excited to see the movie this weekend but will not go until i finish the Last few pages of my book...I adore quarky ol home town attitudes and festivities...so i am already in love with many of the characters...their attitudes...and the fashion...

So i am usherin' ...ol fall ...right into my home & life...at least i am tryin'...

I've got to get to wearin' my feedsack dresses and cowgirl boots every day...cookin up some pies, mashed potatoes & cobblers and get to feelin' so bon-i-fied! wink wink

Throwin' that pumpkin smell around the house & snugglin' in the cool air...plus the first Raider football game is on tonight...Yehaw...football!!! Nothin better can i hear an Amen gals! teehee

King Louie...our newest family member...my soccer chicks best buddy...this darn adorable cat has made this house one very happy home. we waited years to get a cat...and mr. lu...well he is purrrrrrrrfect! He has wrapped Daddy0 around hims sweet lil'paw... and equally sleeps with everyone...oh hes a smart cat, he also loves the many names we give him...Luie-nater, fat Louie, Lu LU...

next my summer time project...

Yup rippin' up the stair carpet...ahhhh...yahooooooo

Well I saw this idea in a magazine...so i asked Daddy0 can i rip up the carpet...by me I meant him...well why he asked...um i donno just saw this cute idea...well tell me...well i wanna make every stair different...huh???...ya like not purrrrfect...just rip it up....welll how about i reface them with nice wood?....NOPE...just rip it up...okay? what ever you wanna do we can always fix it back...so this was it...

Warm rustic stairs and i love'em...the landing is made to look like an ol' wine box...i think i will stain it a lil' darker...so i'm no quit finished...Of coarse then we need to paint the walls darker...so now we are on a whole house paint re-do...love it!!!!

Next i found this awesome idea on a friend of mines blog...I adore Chalk Paint... I try and paint something in every room so you can doodle or write lil' notes...

This is my large twin bed size coffee table/ game table... we had a Disney contest the kids did a great job...
Well...

over at counting your blessings she gives an amazing recipe for chalkboard paint...which you can have in any color...its awesome...easy and less expensive! So click on her link on my side bar...but for you'all who dont have the time...here is the recipe...

3/4 C flat latex paint any color

2 Tbl. of pre mix spakle

1 Tbl. of clear glaze....

The guys... Hey gals!!!! Summertime is kicked off to be one fun sum, sum, summertime! It seems as every weekend has been full of family & friends...park days...bbq's...and lots of pool time...we have been very blessed with our close family & friends.!

This was one special park day...it was the first time my whole side of my dads family had a family day since my grandma passed...it was filled with special memories & fun...with photos of my grandparents on every table...=0)

The gals... What a day...watching my mom & me two aunts step up as the older ladies of the family...was heart warming...

Hello gals...let me kick of this post with this photo...Look at this darlin' gal, My Graduation baby chick...
Ok so summer has started off very busy & it has been such a treat...this is my youngest baby chick in her 8th grade graduation dress...a stunning white dress which She was happy in keeping with our family tradition...

A Vintage 1950's amazing lace dress...this absolutely stunning dress was threaded with silver in the midst of the most white lace...A dress I found in Las Vegas at a vintage show...amazingly it fit like a glove and was brand new! It couldn't be more perfect...She adored it & even though we went shopping for dresses and even bought 2 just in case...she still went back to the Vintage lace dress!

She loved it...first it was perfect style for 8th grade, not halter or strapless which isn't allowed so she didn't need to cover up...plus all the teachers and many parents stopped her to say how lovely she looked...it was different & I think it really made her sparkle to hear such amazingly kind words...

She was beautifully confident & Happy...the best accessory to any occasion!

And yes her wonderful, full, happy personality shined all the way through!

Now why this dress was the most perfect for this baby chick...She was giddy & truly delighted at this dress...Well here is the dress story...My amazing girls choose vintage dresses for graduation, which makes me so excited each time. Because they shine...they look different. Stranger after stranger stop them with you look so lady like, or Oh my your so beautiful, which always feels good. I show them that not always following the styles that young girls wear now-a-days is best, They both agree!

Ok so This amazing dress i found in Las Vegas & I put it away...as graduation time & shopping grew near to an end...she kept going back to this dress...now what really sealed the deal for this dress, was her heart...My adorable baby chick who has the kindest most full heart to help others found these....

Toms shoes...I am sure you all know about them but if you don't they are a shoe company which gives a pair of shoes away when you buy one! She adores them & has now earned many pairs...She goes on their blog & watches how they do shoe drops of millions of shoes to children in need...it makes her heart so full & someday would love to do some sort of shoe party with her friends so they could have lots of shoes given one for one!

So these were her ultimate favorites...the glitters...which she adores all the colors...& noticed they were very fancy and festive for proms & graduations! Even people are wearing them for their wedding & they mean so much!

So a few weeks ago they came out with these...Silver Glitters! Well I bought them not even thinking of the dress...when they arrived...she ran to the dress tried it on and came out beaming...."This is soooo perfect mom!!!" I can wear the Vintage dress & have Tom's be a part of my special day! How cool is that?! Now the girls & I have been wearing them with our vintage dresses and they are so comfy plus people stop us because they go so well & stand for so much! This is the hair product called Wen...and it is created by a gentleman named Chaz Dean...who not only ownes one of the most posh hair salons in La...but also is key hair dresser to many many stars...why does their hair look so amazing well...its because of his amazing Wen Cleansing Conditioner...

Super cleansing conditioner that takes the place of shampoo, conditioner,detangler,leave in conditioner, styling creme and what ever else you put on your locks...@ $24.00 this gals will make your hair soooo much better...It is a sulfate free non lathering cleansing conditioner...so gals it doesn't dry your strands out! It conditions it like its silk!

Nope you don't lather no fuzzy bubbles...and with that NO Color Down the drain! It feels as though your putting conditioner in your hair! And yet it is so clean! You pump a dime size as a leave in & walking away...but without it wayin' it down...what??!!! (Now all you rockabilly redheads can agree color down the drain?...that is the worst right...you color your hair, looks fab...and then a day later after you shampoo...its orange!)

Heya sassy kittens!!! First let me say a big ol' thank ya darlins for all your advice & tid'bits...It was so darn helpful to hear your advice& the sites were awesome! ...what a fun lil ride this has been...you gals sure know whatch' yur doin'! I agreed with a lil somethin' from you all... and treasured your advice...so this is what my first time looked like...lets set the stage...

Isn't it purdy? yep...i agreed with you gals i bought what i use...and for my first time i decided to spend under 25.oo at each store & tried to see what goodies i could get...

well...I say i did pretty good...in my book for my first time...my youngest chick was giddy doin' it with me...she set it all up too...she loved the stock pile we created together...we also got 4 toilet tissue,4 toothpaste,2 clothes soap,4 packs of sausage, and some pre made meals, also 6 frozen waffles & 3 breakfast meals...

my favorite thing was cereal which we eat a ton of...I checked the papers and bought what i use ,was on sale,& what i had a coupon for...I enjoyed getting a stockpile & setting up my trips! I didn't try the sites yet...

so ok totals...I spent a total of 74.87 @ the three stores...but saved over $89.63...with store cards and coupons...kinda cool...Daddy-o thought it was cool & clipped my coupons...and baby chicks helped with the pantry...I say it was very excitin' and a great family memory...So I'm gonna try it again this week...and see what happens wish me luck! Thanks for all your advice...this has been fun...which i really didn't think it was gonna be..and everyone was real nice...great first time...thanks for swingin' by Cat~

A Vintage Housewife first! Can i call it an Adventure?

Hey'a kittens hope your week was wonderful! I have had quit a few exciting things go on...first like all adventures in my book you gotta just go for it!

So...Well this new adventure is very unfamiliar to me. I always try and have a vintage warm home...dinners as a family, stories & games before bed and lots of cuddle time...I appreciate the simple times when families did that...I even had Daddy-o make me a clothes line so i could be a rooten' tooten laundry hangin' honey...which I adore...

I try to watch and control this fast pace life & fill it with wholesome things of yester year...my appreciation of good ol family time...simple...close...& appreciation...The way i think my vintage housewife home should be...well...its all gettin turned upside down...for this... Coupons!!! yup...I have never coupon-ed...It never has crossed my mind until i watched the TLC show Extreme Couponing this past week ...I was amazed at these women who make a mission to provide for their families...I was freakin' shocked!

Yes, I was inspired, curious, & honestly giddy at the fact that coupons are amazing! Well I found that the new Target adds will look like this above...ok what kitten couldn't coupon with this adorable add...so hey I thought i would give it a try...wish me luck cuz gals...I don't know what I'm doin' ;0)

So i checked a few websites..on how to do it...With all the excitement i am feelin' I thought what a good thing...what a fulfilled mama I would be to stock pile for my family?

Well gals I need advice...do you coupon...do you watch this show...are you as amazed as I am?

...is this the missing link to my love of being the Vintage Housewife?...I wear vintage clothes...adore my vintage car& camper...junk & flea market...raise my baby chicks in a vintage family style...now can I provide a secure stock like Mrs. Suzy above is in todays age...through coupons??

Flea Market Junkin' !

Hey there kittens! What a great day to hit the Flea Market don'tcha think? For a early mother's day/slash birthday/slash just gotta have a lil' girl time in...we hit the wonderful Pasadena City College flea market! This is me and lil' soccer, baby chick...in our vintage house dresses...hers a wonderful 40's red wrap apron dress gifted from shelly from mothers kitchen...me my newly won brown circle 30's farm dress...new old stock ebay with bakelite buckle & ruffles. My snazzy new birthday present from Daddy-o...my freakin' awesome Coco Chanel sunglasses which he bought for me @ Chanel in Vegas...i loooooooooove Chanel! I'd say it is my most loved signature brand...hmmmm (sigh )... joy!
So on with the junkin' huh gals first off lets check out the...vintage dresses...my girls checkin out the racks...

the apron lady...i always feel like i'm in her home she has countless vintage aprons and lots of kitchen goods...

next a quick snap of a photo...my baby chick is always glued to me lately... I remember my oldest also like that at this age as well... just under her mama's wing...i simply adore it...what a blessing!

one thing about this flea market is this dress seller...has three different set ups...he has enough dresses to fill 3 spots in different places...makes for some good lookin'

now gals this is it...first there is the parking structure which you saw that is filled with vendors & shady...next this is one of the two parking lots filled with goods...and this flea market unlike others is free to get in. The students sell food and drinks to raise money for their clubs...so its a great cause to shop here.

one thing i found out about my oldest baby chick is she is a digger which we call anyone who will jump right on in to a box that says a $$ 1.00...she spends her money so well...she will junk & patiently wait for the best deal of the day...I am so not a digger...she had deals that up-d mine all weekend...so impressive!!!!!! I loved this photo...the backs of these adorable dresses...one buttoned down the back...one wrapped across...i love dresses with extra cuteness on them!

So that was a snap shot of a very fun day junkin'...This baby chick scored these adorable cowgirl boots & an ol tattered silver serving tray to place her junk jewelry on $4.00...she was excited... she is addicted to cute cowgirl boots

...my oldest baby chick scored 5 vintage nightgowns & robes all for a $1.00 a piece(WOW digger!) a 1920's lace vintage dress that she talked down to $8.00, a vintage dress & some vintage sunglasses...

Daddy-o got 2 vintage fruit necklaces for me for $5.00 for both...he was like running to get them like they were the deal of the decade it was so funny the girls were dying sayin' he is so into this ;) tee hee

I got 2 50's necklaces $ 15.00... yahoo...like i don't have enough...3 large & super heavy vintage crystal goblets...$ 20.00...and a full day of junkin' with my gals...just wonderful!

The Killer!!! Viva Car show #2

Heya kittens...you ready...for the Killer...my oh my...a once in a lifetime joy...

Ok so daddy-o knew i wanted to see the one and only Jerry Lee Lewis...even though my feet were in pain from those darn vintage espadrilles i wore to the car show =0(...so off to do a quick comfy outfit change which was a farm dress & my ol trusty cowgirl boots...then back to this...this is the crowd for Jerry Lee Lewis...can you imagine! I was so excited to see tens of thousands to see the killer!

Daddy-o & I waitin' to see the one and only! Me in my new farm dress cowgirl boots & Daddy-o in this awesome gun metal studded button up western shirt. Take a look here...The Killer...He arrived via white limousine...in all his rock n roll fashion...just after his daughter, on the left opened the show for him...his wife ,on the right...

he welcomed the crowd...then got right to it...playin' those fab tunes...

This was a quick change for dinner... I had to wear my comfiest shoes so my outfits changed drastically for the weekend(oh well) =0) ...i bought a whole lot of 40's japan fruit on ebay a while ago that I made shoe clips out of ...& scored two brooches as well...fruit makes me so happy! yippy! Viva & the Car show part #1

Hey all...Cat & Daddy-o...all ready to go...out to one rocken' car show...Viva baby! yep we are dressed and ready to go wearin' my wonderful, fab-u-less, & plain ol one of a kind vintage 50's Kamehameha petal bust Hawaiian dress! This gals is unheard of in my size so this past year when i scored it off of ebay...i thought i would die & i think i would have paid almost anything for it! ...so to wear it finally i was just freakin' giddy ...isn't it a beautiful color? I also loved wearin' my fruit jewels & paired it with my wicker box purse that has fruit all over it=)

Sadly I almost died wearin some 40's vintage canvas espadrilles that i scored just days before Viva they were narrow & killed my feet which messed up all my outfits for the remainder of my trip =( boohoo! Thank goodness i bring lots of shoes(a tub full) & dresses just in case i gotta change it all around Yay!...my handsome Daddy o looked great...ready for some cars in his matchin' vintage shirt & his vintage hat!

Ok so ...you gotta know this is were Daddy-o & I marry my vintage life with his favorite hobby...Cars!! He adores workin' on, talkin' about, & givin' advice to anyone who wants to talk Cars!!! We always are up bright and early for this...

Viva Viva...OH what a time at Viva!

Hey kittens...its me!!!!...boy oh boy...I am so well wrested...& so excited to share...Viva...with all you gals... Woo Weeee! What a wonderful ride... Viva this year was one amazing time...This is my Friday dress...a 1930's dress with amazing Lucite buckles at top of shoulders making a bow in the fabric how cute is that? Also at waist with belt Brand new never worn amazing wonderful dress!! I never wear baby blue...but oh my I adore this new dress. I added Super yummy red ribbon bow pin...& yummy Bakelite necklace and bracelets!

I am a lil bummed out...for i didn't get any photos of Thursday...the drive started totally rocken'...Daddy o & I were ready for one wonderful trip. I wore a black gingham swirl dress for travel...easy & comfy...with the most amazing jewelry...I got stopped countless times give compliment to my style & jewels...wow...just an ol' travel dress was a hit! On Thursday I was stopped 3 times with the words" oh my gosh...its Cat the Vintage housewife" wow! What a huge compliment...just ol' me...I adored meetin' so many first timers...and missed old friends.

So, so sorry for no Thursday photos, you know I wanted to take pictures on Thursday...but I had one thing on my mind...check in our room & then...i was just too excited to start shoppin' up a storm cuz you gotta hit the goods right from the start !...to hit the Jack pot! That's the best kinda friend!

Boss vintage...they have the goods...gals this is an amazing collection of high quality vintage clothes...simply a great find every time I check them out...they adore Daddy o as well...he always makes friends with the vendors...i shop he be friends...then i get great deals...win win!!!

Loved them...shared a hour chit chattin' about campin' & vintage trailers...had a drink but funny I had to run up to my room to bid on a dress on ebay!!??? WHat?? yup who does that @ Viva...well me! I had my eye on a fab dress that i wasn't going to miss...Daddy o set his alarm...so I could bid on time...Yes I won it for a great price...this weekend was startin' off to be the best Viva evah! tee hee!

ekkkk...yes check this one out...Miss Kim Bombshell...from the Kim show...what an excitin' night this was...she is a freakin' hoot!!!!!!!!! This is one sassy gal indeed...i adore her!!! She is so fun...full of life...and oh honey soooooo interesting!!! She is the who's who....miss kim is so a bombshell...she is so stinkin' nice!!!!

as miss sassy Kim and i were chattin'... miss temperamental broad swung by with a sweet hug but sadly no photo... this above an adorable gal who recognized me from my blog...what a treat...she was so excited to meet me...just ol' me??? wow I thought how amazing of a kitten...her mom took photos & i got to ask her loads of questions...her first time in Viva...I sure hope she had a wonderful time...I loved meetin' her & so glad she said HI!!!!

so Friday we ended our night dancin'....here I am not as fresh after a few dances around the floor...but we totally had a great time together...we always do...this Viva was probably one of our favorite in years...although the crowds were enormous... we enjoyed meeting so many nice people!

Hey there kittens! first of all isn't this the most wonderful photo evah!!! I love it ! Now on serious note...i haven't begun to pack for Viva yet...what???!!! I have been so busy that i am runnin' out of time...I can't imagine not puttin' my adorable outfits together...at this point i haven't a clue on what i am bringin' at all...yesterday I batted my eyes to Daddy-o & said...well I'll just have to bring it all! tee hee ;)

Now for this...although I haven't packed I'm still on the hunt! You gals know how I am in love with the amazing Olga nightgowns...you know how they flatter every gal!!! Hello there Gals...i thought to write about my amazing find a few years back! As you know I try to find any smidge of vintage goodness to apply to this modern fast world we live in and boy did i find a treasure right on my door step... A Milk Man! Oh what a vintage sweet pleasure...Yep... a real true milk man...where once a week he swings by in the dark of the am hours and drops off wonderful chilled real milk(not the watered down version from a store) & dairy! What a treat!!!!...I get so very very excited on milk day...its like my piece of vintage goodness that is active, And it brings me such joy... Not to mention... it also feels like Christmas when i open the door! You gotta love those lil' joys in life.

Now I would love to say this is how look grabbin my yummy cold milk from my wonderful milk man...but alas I wake up with crazy hair & pink flamingo or leopard pj's...grouchy...but when i open the door and see this...

I feel very very Vintage!!! So look into this wonderful pleasure! Find you a man... a Milk Man in your area...it does a body good! tee hee...thanks for swingin' by!

Hey there kittens...glad you all swung in for a chit chat...sit a spell and let me give a tale...You see I have gotten some sweet & amazing emails, awards, write ups about my blog, selected on numerous top vintage lists for fashion & vintage living...but just recently i got the sweetest darn email evah...first it was a long long email about my impact on vintage living...my joy...& just every other darn tooten' wonderful comment i could imagine =0)...ahhh ya me! Any who...this gal asked if i had ever had an exciting thing go on that i hadn't shared. Well, hmmmmmm...ya! there is lots!...but i share lots too...so i needed help...so i asked Daddy-o & he mentioned this...this funny lil' spotlight in my joyous life...Yes...it is true...I Was an extra in the movie...Catch me if you can! Extra Extra...sayin' it like the show...hee hee...

Ahhhh...so funny huh?! This was such a fun moment...I love this movie...well yes i am partial...ok so here is it my story of an extra...In Hollywood!!!

Ok so one Sunday night i got a call from a agency asking if i was, who i was..."lawdy-daw"...they asked if i was a vintage gal who owned vintage cars...first hold the phone i was real -real sceptical...ends up being a friend of mine gave them my name and number saying that i wore vintage clothes and drove vintage cars and that i would be purrrrfect for an extra in this movie...so long story short...i did it...I filmed for 3 weeks straight every day & night...and my car and i were in a few movie shots...this one above filmed at the Ontario airport...which was made to look like the Miami airport in the 60's...my car is in the back right side...however...you cant see it in this photo... Next i filmed in LA by a famous train station for this scene and a few others...this one is the one that i am standing to the side of Leonardo...i walk by many, many ,many times in this shot...however my dream was to be the clerk inside the shop...which her line is...We don't open up for a half an hour (in the most jersey voice evah) I soooooo wanted to do that line...as I listened to it for a whole day, over & over & over again...

Now my favorite part about the extra work was this...the warehouse of vintage fashion...and GETTING MY HAIR & Makeup DONE EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it!

However I hated this outfit...I kept telling the fashion people...I have a better outfit than this!!!!!!! Let me wear it please! tee hee...alas they would say no...you see they were very very picky...they snap photos of every person in their outfits...and look at them every day to check that every day you are the same top to bottom. Every thing from the hair, makeup,shoes,jewels, down to the undergarments...was period perfect! So day after day i wore this...& the yucky bullet bra!Now check out this... there was one mistake...you see my white gloves...well one dark night, this night pictured here...i was supposed to be in New York at night well they filmed me walking across the window in a shot...but alas...i have white gloves on...well you only wore white gloves in the daytime in New york...so stop...hold it...they stopped filming so i could take them off...like they stopped everything just for a pair of white gloves...wow! So now onto the daytime...this is me driving in traffic up & down round and round on set...its really LA...but i believe it was a New York shot when Leonardo is going to the bank to forge some checks...the worst thing about driving your car...is they spray it with this mud stuff so it isn't shiny for the camera...awww...my purdy car is dirty!

Now looky here...there is my car in front of one of the directors...you see it was very hard to get photos on set...you have to sign a waiver that you wont take photos or let anyone know where the locations are...well of coarse my rocken Daddy-o made friends with this particular director...and well he let us snap a few pictures! yay!

So this is me with a good friend of mine... he is one of the coolest guys in the Rockabilly scene...hes very well known here and Japan... they even have a doll of him in Japan...and well he hated the 60's period clothing they had him in...no one would ever recognize him & well i think he was happy about that...hahahha now take a lil look...in front of the cab...yep that is Steven Spielberg...directing...

ok so this is it...my moment...ok my favorite moment the one im gonna share...this day up in old Pasadena we filmed...they shut down a old street of vintage houses...paid each home owner $350.00 to not be home or hide out...so as an extra i sat on a porch while my car was parked out front of this house...looking at this amazing man...Tom Hanks...and this is what happened... ........................................the back end of his car...yup...he smiled, tipped his hat...then waived at me and i got this....a horrid picture with my purse in the way...why me!!!!!!!! However I met Christopher Walkin, and had a blast on a great movie

...now is it hard to find me in the movie...ummmm,mm Yes! We had to slow it down like a million time to see me...and like once you see my arm...oh ya! I mostly ended up on the cutting room floor where all the great shots end up... wink wink;0)

So that is it...my tale of somethin' i haven't shared before...The Day I was and extra...Extra Extra! tee hee...thanks for swingin' by for some Extra time...Cat~

Hey all you sassy kittens...hope you are all enjoyin' the spring time! I am just into the buying mood! I am hitting the flea markets...Ebay...Etsy...and any junkin' spot i can...

I am so darn excited spring is in the air...Viva is close...and i feel like i don't have a thing in my closet...have you ever felt that way?!! Daddy-0 chuckles...cuz i do this every year although my closet looks like its gonna crash to the ground...tee hee

So after 4 soccer games this weekend...It was off to the rose bowl...full of vintage goodness...the sweet air...sunny skies...although i got a lil' sun on my skin & i didn't score much..I had a blast being out and about...

it was a beautiful weekend...the clouds burnt right of in California...and it seemed everyone was a little excited...to make deals...

ahhhhh...the sweet sweet vintage goodness...aren't your eyes wide open lookin' at this treasure??

hey all! i thought i would share a wonderful day at my lil' sweet college chicks school... Homecoming! Which is a very fun day and full of school spirit! Welcome all...this is scotty the bear her school mascot... isn't he handsome!
Not only was it homecoming, but parent day all rolled in one...there was a full day of fun with many many booths of fun games & food...ran by students... it was a very school spirited day...we won alot of great school goodies...

awww...i love my family & how quarky we are...we always join in on the fun...why not life is a blast...laugh alot!!!! Here r my Sugar bears!After much fun we were hungry...The food was yummy for the tailgate party before the game...two thumbs up as you can see...yummmmone thing about our family is we always support our teams...we dress in the garb...from pro,college, & high school football...to baby soccer chicks teams! You gotta support your team! Look at them lovin' each other...awww my heart is proud!now this is so beautiful...The Bag pipers...oh my the sound is heavenly...her school is founded & Scottish based ...from the tartan print hand selected from Scotland to the shield of honor. The pipers play at every important function from homecoming to graduation...it is very spirited and special.so this is how they come over & down the hill for homecoming...marching the team in...for a victory!And all the students and parents follow as well...there i am above...It was so fun! And we won...so ya we do have a lil' school spirit! oh ya-

So because we were all so into the Scottish vibe...my baby college chick wanted me to find her a few vintage school preppy goodies that she could wear on campus...so i hit etsy and eBay...this is what i bought...

this amazing vintage scarf...oh i didn't expect to find much and this was a dream...it has historical places as well as Scottish shields...$6.00 ebay

Next this preppy vintage sailboat scarf...in her school colors...$ 3.99 ebay

Now last we hit the thrift shop on Saturday...we had a blast i scored so many goodies...first a vintage burberry tie...i couldn't believe it!!!! I am trying to date it...it has to be 50's at the least 60's there are just too many vintage elements to it but i still don't know yet...we were all jumping around...it is so cool...stamped silk inside the tie & a vintage tag similar writing as some of my vintage dresses...its truly amazing...$ 1.00...of coarse baby college chick wants it

...Next i found two initial pins...with the letter "C"...so i was very excited for that $ 2.00 each & two bar brooches $ 3.00

...A vintage yellow handkerchief , tie clip, and cuff link set $ 3.50

...And last a vintage silk head scarf from Japan $ 1.00

Heya sasssy kittens...Viva is around the corner and i am so lovin' all the posts from all you gals!!! So i thought i would join in...hey i wanna play too!

Well you gals have done it...you gals have did some great posts...what to wear...how to do it...I was so thinkin' how awesome this year is gonna be...the blog world has really brought vintage gals together...its so Rocken'!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Past years...have been great but meetin' & greetin' some blog gals is gonna be the highlight...dontcha' think!? I just can't wait

...so below i thought to post some photos from past Viva years... this is a pic from 2 years ago i think...I kinda place all my goodies out...put'in things together seeing what i can't live without...and what i have to...this pile grows and grows...
now you've got to remember the pool party...years ago it was one day...sunday...but there is talk it will be a few days this year...so bring your play suits!

Now Viva is my place to score jewels! There are amazing sets...one thing i have learned very early on in my Viva adventures is you gotta bring the jewels! They finish your outfits off...This set here...well its gonna be up for grabs real real soon keep posted...I'm gonna have a gotta have it Give Away before Viva...

Re post #4...wow more about me? Hey you asked for it! hee hee hey you rocken' kittens...I've got some answers to the first 5 of the questions...i thought i would group them...then i thought i wanna answer each doll...and thank them for the questions...so here goes...

Miss Craftyphoenix asks...have you and hubby always lived vintage? I adore your style...well sweet thing sadly no...though very early on we found our vintage groove! You see even in high school i would wear vintage purses with everything i loved the vintage box styled bag & soon after Daddy-o & i were married(right after high school yup high school sweethearts!) We found that he loved vintage cars& tinkerin' with them...though we thought we would never have one! We have had a few now!

Early on in our marriage Vintage just seemed to fit us so well...i loved the ol' 40's farm housewife...and he the awesome cars...antique shoppin' and ol' western rockabilly music of the 30's 40's & 50's...so vintage just captured us! I think because we share the love of that simpler time it has bonded us in this awesome lifestyle, the ol' values with raising our lil' chicks, & in the past few years the newness of swing dancing & jiving! Which we go out a do every Friday!

Gary-Barb asks...I have two questions: Where do you buy your wonderful wrap dresses and What was the process of renovating your precious trailer? I love the dresses and adore the trailer.

well darlin the trailer was a blast...i loved every moment of it...

my sweet lil' cupcake 53' field and stream needed so much work...but as my hubby knows so well...i want it done now!!! So every night he would come home and work on it...my lil' chicks as well...we gutted the inside, leaving only the main things, sanded everything including the outside, we re-skinned many sections that had water damage,took out the windows and re sealed them, painted inside and out...and redid the closet shelving...

now daddy-o...well he did all the brakes and electrical...you know the lil' stuff! hee hee and me well...i got to decoratin' and collecting... Now you ready kittens for the kicker...it was all done within'...8 weeks...yup i had a trip with my girl group and i wanted to go...so we got right to it...i have many picture of the process...just click on anything trailer related in my labels & take a peek!!

next part of the question is about my wrap dresses...well gals i just love'em! As i am noticing you all do as well! honestly i find them everywhere and anywhere i can...i am always on the hunt for these!!!! They seem to flatter me and are so rooten' tooten comfy!! & Cute as pie!!!!

I started with apron dresses from the 40's and soon found the company Swirl ! The amazing housewife daily dress that actually you'll find Ethel Mertz wore in many I love Lucy episodes! So to be honest i adore the Ethel dress...i actually am a lot like Lucy as all my girlfriends say...but she dressed too dressy being a band leaders wife...i am more of an ol Ethel in my style!

When do i hunt?...well once i had the swirl brand in my sights...i was a crazy woman on the hunt...well i've hunted for the past 13 years! And Really honestly kittens i will take any adorable wrap dress!!! Any shape i love them!!

The easiest place to find them is Ebay i punch in the search...vintage wrap dress...40's wrap dress, 50's wrap dress, Swirl, and even vintage wrap aprons...i narrow the search by size as well l xl xxl . I do flea markets and vintage clothing stores...the Internet has many vintage shops including Etsy , but i don't have the time...so a good ol' flea market does the trick...I have had a lot of great finds! But i think thats part of the love of vintage the hunt!! Hope this helps your hunt! Just don't outbid me!!!!!!!

Kris from Eastern or...asks..I love your blog! I know you love your hairdresser, but could you give us gals some tips for retro styled hair? Do you use hot rollers every day?

well sweet doll thank you ...i do love hair...i try so many things i think thats what brings 40's & 50's vintage into today...old with the new! I place flowers in my hair & even collect vintage hair clips...which is one of my favorite accessories evah!!! Although when i go out or go dancing i do wear my hair in very vintage styles that take a lot of work like pin curls or rolls.

Now daily gals...i wear a simple hot roller rolled style, piggy tails,or a simple curled bob with Bakelite clips or wonderful flowers...it is real and every day...my style is more of a soft real housewife hair style & yes i usually place large hot rollers in my hair...the best advice for you is to look at real photos from the 40's or life magazines and add your own twist so that its for your every day...not just a special occasion...and gals always sass it up with a cute lil' flower or clip. As always kittens...whatever you do rock the real you!!!

Miss Picklebugmuffinsmommy asks...Do you work outside the home? Do you have children?

Well i don't work outside the home anymore although i have...Daddy-o and i really wanted me to be available to my children...i have done all the mommy duties...I have been so blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my lil' chicks and know they are wonderful upstanding women...i know me being home for them was such a huge part of their life and has been the reason that they would rather be home than anywhere! That is gold to a mom.

I have two lil' chicks one is now graduating & going off to college & the other is a new teen. They adore each other and spend more time with me than their friends so I think that is a great outcome for a stay at home mom. I have kept them very busy...and am blessed they are very confident even with the issues of size, style, & other girly issues that can plaque a young girl in these days.

I AM BLESSED TO BEEN ABLE TO BE AT HOME WITH MY LIL' CHICKS!

OOOOOH i love this question...this picture on my blog says it! (on my side bar)...i delight myself in the Lord!!! I do I do! I know how much my God loves me and i wanna show it with joy! I have much faith and believe my life is his!

Thats why i started this blog...my gals persuaded me to show the joy of a life who loves the Lord! I feel good about myself, my style, My size and know that my confidence is from God.

One day a guy from a newspaper stopped me in my Lucy car...he saw i had a Jesus tag on a cool vintage car...then asked how a tattooed, rockabilly, 50's gal could own a vintage car, dress like me and love the Lord?!

I simply shared my joy of the 50's & life...and said God loves cool people too!!!!

yes kittens whats in your Drawers?!!...tee hee...not those drawers...but the cluttered goodies at home...miss 1950's atomic ranch house had the cutest darn idea...showin' whats in your drawers...so all the interested, the nosey', & just the plain ol' snoopy kittens could take a peek...that was somethin' right up my alley...so take a peek...Warning...no drawers were cleaned or cutsy'ed up in this process!

ok first...my pen drawer...happy i just did this one during the holidays...why cuz i was sick of everyone askin for a pen and tape while wrappin presents! ha-this is my card stash drawer...this makes me happy very easy cards on hand!next this is suppose to be my vintage jewelry drawer...hmmmm...needs help! Where are all my goods...thrown in other drawers i guess...ha ha hamy belt and ribbon drawer...sometimes my vintage farm dresses are missing their belts so ribbon in many array of colors, need to be on hand...just like miss vavoom vintage places goods in ol' train cases...i use them so... so often ! this is my eyeshadow train case! next my vanity...full of jewels & clips...its my every day go to drawer...now the bottom is for my lil' soccer chick...where her many many colors of pre wrap is stored ...its used for her hair to be out of her face while playing soccer...hey you gotta have every color!now this drawer is the me drawer...my family and friends have teased me for years...yes i am Cat and i have a napkin drawer...is their a support group for this?this is a scary drawer...don't know what they belong to or whos they are? But we have a drawer full of them...just in case you need one...hee heeI am a fish...i love water and i swim every day in the summer...so naturally i would have bathing suit drawers...this is two of...5now last this is my favorite drawer...cuz its my junk drawer...i throw every thing in it...full of jewels,sweater clips, hair flowers, belts, glasses, i even had a vintage dress thrown in it...boy i need to clean some drawers! Howdy kittens...i couldn't wait to show you gals all these adorable set ups... this picture is from my lil' 1953 Field & Stream...check out how cute my lil' neighbor is...sweet lil' Liza Jane a compact Shasta trailer...and that shiny lil' silver steam trailer in the back is so beautiful... now this is campin' my cute lil' awning is up...i've got my vintage lookin' lawn chairs...my 50's pink Colman cooler & my 50's pink kitchen cart for a hand washing...awww...i was ready for a lil' western dry campin'

Now outside we set up yummy treats and goodies....of coarse mine are Twinkies and cupcakes,& canisters of m&m's...i had my 50's pink Colman water jug holdin' flowers...& lots of black,polka dot, & pink melmac plates...everything handy for quick snackin'

Ahh my baby chick & my cutie trailer agian. You've gotta know that i love that we really take my lil cupcake trailer out to camp(dry camp at that)...it was so much fun...we fit in it like a glove & giggle that whole families would camp in trailers this size in the 50's...we enjoyed that we felt like we were in a lil' play house...

that made this a special trip, miss baby chick's first time campin' or glampin' in lil cupcake. Usually there are no kiddos, critters, or misters invited to sister trips so i was excited they got to come to this one. Baby chick had her cowgirl boots on , one of my hand dyed vintage slips & her pearls...she was ready!

she enjoyed herself & found a lil' friend...sweet shelby girl who had a pink scarf

So indeed it was very special to have her with me...she got to see wonderful women do things on their own...like hitchin' up a trailer and hittin' the open road...she herself ran the whole show from starting the fire, learnin' to barter stuff and dutch oven cookin' it was a great trip...

A rooten' tooten' Trip to Quartzsite Arizona...part 1

Howdy gals...I'm back from my trip on a whim...and it was great! Daddy-o & I hitched up our lil' 53 cupcake trailer and ooooh weeeeee had a blast...first stoppin' at the ol Dennys for a big ol breakfast to start off our day...are you ready for some drivin' ...ooooh ya-

The views were so beautiful...

the sun was out & the warm air felt so good after all the rain...hmmm this was the makings for a fab trip... to Quartzsite Arizona for their yearly longest flea market and quartz rock show...not to mention hangin out with all my sisters from my trailer group sisters on the fly...

You see every year all the California gals jaunt over to the Arizona gals side for some shoppin, campin' and oh honey some dutch oven cookin'( they host the best campout!!!)...we think this is the coolest thing...and this year Daddy-o was a judge for the competition...he said his best gig evah!!! Tastin' all that fab food...

I can't believe how these gals do it...one gal even made a cheesecake in her dutch oven!!!!!! wow who does that...amazing... you see you cook it underground with coals...you have to be exact and it takes so much time...amazing!!! So to say the least...there was a lot of food...& a lot of fun...& hmmmm shoppin!!!!!!!

oh gals the shoppin... it is about a month long a people travel hundreds of miles to sell their goods...they stay in trailers and hotels and stake their places to sell things from all over this great country...the shoppin' is endless...you can't possibly ever see it all...

I spent an entire day shoppin' ...and didn't even get out of the very first section...it is hundreds of miles long...hundreds...you'd have to stay all month to scratch the surface...it is fab...just fab!

oh my oh my...amazing treasures...these are some wonderful metal makeup cases and pill boxes

and one of a kinds everywhere...and gals the jewelry is amazing...vintage goodies of every era.

The sellers really try and stage well...i love sellers that take the time to put like things together...

their are booths and booths of vintage goods...it is so much fun to hunt out treasures..

many ol ' wire places and farm equipment...as well as linens & so much glass wear...you really can find everything at this market!

so yes it was a blast but boy oh boy i was tired!

So this set is one of my treasures...I've never seen anything like these...different canisters of thick leaded glass & old metal stands...they were so beautiful i had to have them! i thought to place them in my bathroom with cotton balls and q-tips in them...the two on the edge i will place candles in them...the large on in the back is my favorite...they are soooooooo heavy! i love them...usually i don't buy much for the home when i am vintage shoppin'...usually i buy clothes or things for my trailer...so this is a treat to find a goodie i can enjoy in my home...

now this is a hoot...my baby chic staged a scene...then asked me to take pictures of her with her new vintage boots...she usually wears her boots with vintage western swing dresses but today she wanted cowgirl glam...

Now me...
I love to wear mine with with my ol 40's vintage farm dresses, especially when its cold out.This mossy green check zipper front farm dress has a big button top & I'm wearin' my ol faithful brown sweater ahhh this is for some comfortable vintage...very errand friendly

scuffs and all they are so comfy and actually when i go see a rotten' tooten twangy ol' rockabilly band like Deke Deckerson they make for some easy twirly dancin'...and they don't hurt my feet at the end of the night like my wedgies do...

now a few months ago i bought this darlin' vintage industrial spinnin rack

I couldn't figure out what to use it for...so during the holiday i hung my cards...ok but not right...

so after many attempts...first leaving it empty...then i placed vintage photos...then place cards...then Christmas photos & cards...lastly i made it a candy rack! For our family fun room...purrrrfect i thought easy snackin'...hmmm not too New yearish...teehee

The Year is off to a rocken start!

Hello sassy kittens and Happy New Year to you! I hope you all are off to a rocken' start...I sure have had a wonderful spin...with excitement, wonderful moments with daddyO & my lil' kittens...full of great promise and adventure! Ahhhh the new crisp hope of a new year...what a joy!

Now today was full of alot of fun...waking up to the Wonderful Rose parade, then off for great breakfast at an adorable lil' vintage styled cafe'Next a long drive in the open country up into the mountains it was wonderful & warm... We stopped at a farmers market full of sweet goodness...

And oh gals...some vintage shopping...at a flea market not to mention...

Then the awesome & exciting Rose Bowl football game where the amazing TCU won! yahoooo' the underdogs win!! CAN I GET A YEHAW FROM THE TEXAS GALS!

Now how appropriate take a peek at this...today i scored this 1940's vintage head scarf...picturing football...ekkk purrrrrrfect for this kitten on Sundays with my adorable vintage overalls...i adored the ol' vintage leather helmets!!! What a find!!!! $10.50

Before all the friends come by for one big ol' country breakfast on Christmas mornin' I have to sass the place up... Well with many artificial trees in my home i have to find ways to bring in the smell of Christmas...by adding wreaths and fresh sprigs of greenery to my home...this brings that ol' pine smell in right away! I also nestle Cinnamon pine cones in all my trees...mmm the smell of Christmas!

Ho HO Ho...ladies...a sweet lil' Christmas tip...now this one is not for the squeamish...some books were harmed in this tip...be advised....

what a wonderful wreath...it took my breath away...this is pages from a old book wrapped ever so softly...tied with a small piece of twine...ahhhh such a gor-guss idea...

i love making different things for the holidays...i love the different textures...this is just ripped up Cotton fabric tied...wow how come i can't think of things like this...adorable

now hold the phone...this is amazing!!!! Pages of an ol' book again...made into garland...my oh my...just so so sweet! Hello kittens!!!!!!!!! So sorry i haven't been around much...my dear ol' computer was down...but now i'm back...up and runnin' ready for a very very Merry Christmas! OOOOOH my can't you believe it...its here! ekkkkkk!

Now oh my Grinchy baby...Oh how you make my heart beat...

well as most of you know from last year...I LOVE ol Grinchy baby...and every year we go and see the Grinch that stole Christmas at the Old Globe theater in Sandiego 7 years runnin...this year was no different....my heart was full of the joy of Christmas...& excited to see just how sassy Grinchy boy could be...he was great!

now i will take this ol' Grinchy any way i can have him...a Movie or a play...

but look at this face...who couldn't love that ol sad vintage grinchy...who was actually black in early acounts of his life...

...Now the fab part is...his heart grows two sizes bigger every year...hee hee...thats the part i cry at! It's the magic of Christmas...So take a lil' gander at ol Grinchy baby...and check out my post from last year about...dear ol' Mean Mr. Grinch...

Howdy gals how'yall doin? I'm sittin in Old town temecula & I thought to give ya a lil' sassy tour of a very sweet shop...and show ya this adorable dress i'm dreamin' of...ooh i wish i could sew...

i though i would drop right out of my seat when i saw this...i adore this darn dress...I think it has very flatterin' lines at the waist...oooh it would be so purrrrrrfect...you think my glue gun could do the trick! tee hee...aahhhhhhh

now for this sweet shop in sunny temecula california...this shop is home to some adorable goods...all sold by one fab lil' lady...miss vivian...who always has a smile and loves to call everyone sugar or darlin'...it make this lil' gal want to come back time and time again...

old town temecula is one fab lil ol' town full of history and vintage cowboy charm...

weekends are filled with cowboy shows on the street, many adorable vintage shops, fab dinning...and a farmers market...but my favorite place is here...the rooster creek...

which is filled with yummy candles, ol time sweets, and adorable aprons & goods

so if your ever in the area...look this place up located right off of main street!

And tell miss vivian and the gals...Cat sent ya...ya' hear! yehaw!

The Vintage Housewife Halloween Tradition

Hello my dear-y's...as the crisp fall nights are upon us i thought to share my very favorite Halloween tradition...The Wizard of Oz...

Every Halloween i cuddle up with the most wonderful movie of all time. As a child it always would seem to be playing on t.v. so i would pop some popcorn and settle in for a wonderful tale...

Now my lil' chicks and i show the movie outside on our garage door Halloween night while handing out candy,popcorn, hot cider, & baked goodies to passer byers...placing draped orange twinkle lights all around lines of black folding chairs so tired children and very tired parents can take a lil' break from the furry of the festive night... & watch the greatest movie of all time! oooh what a fun night!

you see in 1903 was the first published musical...that grew to the amazing...

1939 movie...ahhh...what an amazing movie...

early on...i fell in love with the sight of the ol' black and white tattered barn farm look...

first thought back...i feel in love with aunt Em's farm style...and the old hatted hard workin' farm hands...what a wonderful fall feeling! I credit lots of my farm love & ol barn style to this movie...it brings me joy! That is why i love raisin' my family in that style of ol' tattered, peelin' warm lovin' home grown love. And why i love sharin' it with you all...Joy!

I wanna be a Venomous Villain!

Hello My Deary's...wooooohhhaaaaaaaaH! Oh how it has been awhile...but i couldn't wait to share how i wanna be a Venomous Villain! But alas i seem to be a poor unfortunate soul!!!!

I just found out about the new line from Mac...Called Venomous Villains! All with adorable names like dark deed, strange potion, bite of an apple, & toxic tale. My lil' chicks and I love Disneyland and all it's magic...but i have a lil' secret...I have always wanted to be... A Villain~ness!

So of coarse i ran to get some of this amazing line of cosmetics...but alas...Sold out!!!! I am a poor unfortunate soul...(sigh)

being that i wanna be a villain...like miss Maleficent...i'm on the hunt...for this...so even though they say there is no way to get it...i will use my evil villain power to find this...

Miss Cruella de Ville...in amazing ruby reds called wicked ways & heartless...ooooh i want i want...

Howdy gals! I was thinkin' that i would post 12 things you didn't know about me! Yup...its so easy to look at a photo and say she loves vintage clothes! But there is so much more and i think it is such a hoot when i get to know one of my fellow blog friends and am shocked at a lil' tid-bit they share

...well i just love it gals i do!...so i thought i would try it...here we go...

First ladies i have always wanted to be a bad cowgirl...yup i love the whole strong, bad gal, outlaw kind! I love the ol' sayin' ...good girls hardly make history!!! I wanna be a rooten' tooten' rebel ! Thats why i painted that on the back of my trailer!

ok gals...I LOVE!!!! paying my bills! Omg...yes i get very happy when i do it...i feel excited as if i found a wonderful dress...of coarse i love having the money to do it...but no matter i love bill day! funny huh?

Next some of you might know this one...i am a a fanatic when it comes to football! I watch football far more than dear ol hubby...i don't even care what game or if it is an ol' game from a previous season...i love football! High school, college, and Nfl! I watch it all!

I love the rain! Oh ya who doesn't...but you will find me opening every window & making sure i go out and just be in it! I stand or sit outside enjoying the drops

My favorite color is cherry red...it has been my whole life...but what makes it odd is when i love a color i love the fruit,the smell, just as much as the color...so to say i adore cherries is a understatement...just like i looooooove pumpkin...you know i've said i am part pumpkin...i love the smell the taste the color...i love the whole darn thing...funny

perky pillows...ahhhhhhhh... i love perky pillows they make me very very happy

I enjoy camping...have my whole life...i love the family time...ooooh the country camping breakfasts out in the open air...oh you know we eat so much better when we camp. lastly the funny part is...i love the way our clothes smell when we come home...like campfire...we call it camping perfume!

i adore pictures of ol' barns...thats why my house has a ol' white peeling paint feel...the character of an ol' barn is beautiful. Comforting...home-y

now i know you all know about my 1953 trailer...but this is an example of my personality...i can't wait for a darn thing! I AM A DO~ER! When i get an idea i have to do it right away! So when i found her i had to have her all cute a painted like within' 3 weeks...I really really can't wait...especially with a project!

I am sooooooooo grouchy in the mornin'! It takes me a good 30 minutes to be the happy mama i know i should be...I sit quietly, wake up...pray...and then i can start the day...I am so not a morning person...but once im up...i have to get everything going! Fast...i don't dilly dally!

So this is Lucy my car...she is my very own vintage car(hee hee not daddy-os) But the funny fact about me is i am shy when i drive her...I don't know why...people stare at me all the time and i love it...the vintage clothes and all...but in Lucy i am very shy and i just drive looking straight ahead to the open road...so funny!

and last fact... is i wear leopard daily! It is my very favorite print...i will buy anything with leopard...and i will wear it! From pj's...to shoes...jackets...purses and even the ugliest ugg boots in the world...but they were leopard so i had to have them! ha- I search for leopard anything...when i have a free me moment and nothing to do...i will search leopard on Ebay...hundreds of leopard things pop up...ha happy time!

Howdy gals..Happy Fall Y'all...ahhh can you smell the weather a changin'! I sure can & I am happy as pie about it! Here i am in my early 40's lil farm zip dress with the sweetest red & white gingham...piggy tails and cowgirl boots...pumpkin & apple pie are in the air...So welcome to my day of bringin' in the fall...

howdy to one of my favorite signs ...cuz it's where i buy my very very favorite pie evah! You see fall is this gals time of year...and gals i've gotta bring the fall time in right...with my first stop being Julian California...pie country (hee hee i named it that!)

You see many many know about MOMs pies...who doesn't... and let me tell ya the pies are good & they are shipped everywhere! there is no wonder why the lines to get in are a mile long...its tradition to go to Julian for a MOMs pie...

the windows are lined with yummy pie goodness...& the smells kittens...oh my are sure delight!

Adorable de~lish goodies...from tarts to pies every kind imaginable

...but there is a lil' secret place gals...yep a small lil' secret that i found years ago! To buy the best darn pie evah!!!And to be honest gals... I never never tell anyone!

It's my sure way to get ahhhs and oooohs at every party...It's my Cat!!!! OMG where did you get this pie! ...but kittens i'm gonna do it...i'm gonna share my lil' secret...with you sassy gals...

right under this sight, across the street from MOMs...there is a small lil' screen window thats it! yup you say hi & you order a apple pumpkin pie! you can't even see the whole person helpin' ya...and you've just gotta try this creation of goodness...its a Apple PUMPKIN pie!!!

WHat???! Yup gals...apple & pumpkin ...put together in one pie!

EKKKKKK! take a peek...a thin thin soft crust on the bottom, and sweet Cinnamon layered with apples grown right there in Julian, and wait for it...a thin layer of pumpkin..topped with a sweet crumbled topping! ahhhhh the best of both worlds pumpkin pie & apple pie. So for all of you who can swing in to Julian...take a taste of the world best pie in my book!

Next for those of you who can't...SLAP YOUR PAPPY GOOD! =) with this yummy pie...I'd like to share a lil' shoppin in Julian...fall goodness...

So on our pumpkin apple pie adventure the girls and i did a lil' fall shoppin' come along for the ride... aprons first...

Hey kittens! So glad you stopped by! I'm in need of a lil' advice...rain boots ,wellies,hunter...oh my! Is there a gal out there who can help...a girl out?

you see my lil' college chick...wants rainboots!...hmmmm...it doesn't rain much in sunny California...what?( i sounded so old in that statement!)

I guess everyone...wears rain boots...I know its been a trend for the past couple of years & they are really sweet...

but can you gals help...can you give me a tip or two...what do you wear with these boots?????????? How do you put it all together...tips gals tips...

Saltwater sandals & A Daily outfit too!

hey kittens...i am so excited to share one favorite goodie of mine & i'll throw in a daily outfit too...

so this is my daily outfit...a yummy pink and blue rose 1950's sundress...metal zipper back and the sweetest pockets...i wore a 1950's blue flowered necklace & bracelet that i bought in Viva last year & my sweet lil' girl white sandals...

a close up of the print of the dress and my necklace...the bunch of flowers at the bottom is actually the clasp...

sweet sweet pockets...and bracelet...this set came with a matching sweater clip as well...a great set to find! I snatched it up so darn fast!

so now...the Sandals...oh i love these!

these sandals are one of my favorite finds evah! Aren't they sweet...I found these when my oldest was only 1 year old...boo hoo 17 years ago.i have had my girls wear these lil' adorable sandals their whole lives and i swear by them!

They are Saltwater sandals a 60+ year sandal by the HOY company...a company that has been making these adorable sandals since 1940! A true vintage sandal that you can have today!

As you know During World War II there was a leather shortage! And one wonderful man who worked for the military making boots...decided to use the ol' scraps from the soldiers boots to make kids sandals. And the Salt water sandal was born & has been made the same ever since! They fit any foot..wide and narrow...just pull the leather with your thumbs and wallah...they fit just right!

Salt water sandals are a strong leather,rust resistant buckles,& made to be worn in the water! yep in the water!

they are so amazingly durable for kids...and the vintage history are the purrrrrfect addition to a lot of my vintage dresses...my red pair are my favorite!

i get so many compliments on them with my vintage dresses and they are so comfy! They come in lots of colors...and look great with cuffed jeans & sweaters! I usually love them in summer for flea markets and totally wear them when i ride my pink bike...

so this is the pair my eyes are on...soft pink & very sweet! Now i gotta find a new dress...of coarse! :) hope you like these adorable sandals...thanks for swingin' by kittens have a rocken' week! Cat~
