Hey kittens...Happy Thanksgivin'...We are all gearin' up this weekend for some Turkey, Family & Friends here at my place. I woke up worrin' if my turkey would be defrosted...you know one of those panic in the middle of the night kinda thoughts...like its 10 am and your company is commin' at 2 and its frozen...oh my oh my...soooo I set out to find the Facts.Now Fun Fact...if your turkey is still frozen place it in a cold bird bath..of water and ice...changin' the water every 30 minutes( breast down)...it should only take a few hours especially if its already been defrostin' in the fridge.. how easy is that...now a rule of thumb is 5 hours of defrostin' time per pound of Turkey in the fridge. But a cold bird bath is better than a fridge stay...hmmmm who knew!
Now we always have a traditional Turkey...and then a star one...this year we will try a BBQ Turkey...we went and got a turkey BBq...can't wait...what kinda turkey are you gals havin'...do tell do tell...Happy Thanksgivin' gals...Cat~

Since it's just the two of us we're having a smoked turkey breast. I picked it up yesterday. Yum.

wow.I never new that.Normally we defrost the day before and pray the next while it's cooking.lol.I am looking forward to our this year since my husband is here and this is his first thanksgiving since he is English.I have warned him not to wear a belt.lol.
This year my brother in law is frying two turkeys. One plain and one Cajun! Can't wait to "taste" how they turn out!
