hello sassy kittens...ooh i am back to normal with much excitement with spring springin' on in ...with a rocken' weekend of pool time, wonderful evening walks , and a lil' trailer time...i am ready to get that grime and grit out of the house and sassy up for spring...first a few of my lil' goodies i promised and a happy birthday to me...
this new lil' purchase of a sweet double flower was a great find... as i wear flowers in my hair i wanted a bigger number for pool time..i thought of those ol' musical movies in the late 50's where there was water dancing and how their hair was actually done very simply...pulled back and rolled and pinned with large flowers...so out in vegas i was hunting for a larger number where i could pull it more back and place a larger group...well this is what i found...all one piece...love it!
my newest white purse...as my other was a 40's beaded number... i like the sturdiness of a box purse...although many are from the late 50's to 60's, the shape and sizes work for my style...so i pair them with matching wedges and yahoo...Cat is happy... price...$30.00 in vegas
ok so i forgot to turn the picture....oh my oh my...but this happy birthday treat i couldn't wait to share...this kitten loves the handles on this new lil' sky blue dream...given for my birthday by my mom...isn't it sweet...and so different...birthday girl is happy indeed!
next...oh happy day...this is a dreamy vintage overnight case in the sweetest pink...Daddy-o picked this up for me...in viva...of coarse this lil' number is purrrfect for my pink lil' cupcake trailer to store all my vanity goodies...he talked the lady down a whole 2$ from her original price...you go boy!
oh my " HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME?!" yes what a great and special time to have a birthday...this spring baby enjoys the beauty of spring and i am very blessed during this time...
this kitten is very fine indeed with getting older...it's a blessing!...with age comes wisdom...and with wisdom comes a joy in life like no other...when you have a piece about who you are, the journey your on, and faith in your path...you can evaluate where your headed and....hmmmmmmmmm...sass it up if you want...its you and your special day...embrace you...and your age...kittens there is something so lovely about being...you at any age! thank you jesus!soooooo oh happy day...heee heee....to me!
so for my birthday this year daddy-o had an idea... i found that i loved this photo months ago...there is something in her style, her life with the fruits of her labor and the piece of the warmth of the sun warmin' up her lil' farm house...
i shared with Daddy-o this photo and said how i wanted to be her...how i loved her dress soooooooo much i wanted to "marry it!!!!!" he laughed at me a bit like i was a small excited child as i always get a lil' excited over new things and adventures!...i shared with him how this was a "2 die 4 " dress{that's code for him...then he knows i will almost pay anything for it} and how i would hunt for it...well with much surprise...he hunted...and did something i never thought of before...
he found a dress maker...OH MY OH MY! i never would of thought of that! No way...but i only wear real vintage daddy-o...well whats wrong with this kitten...
you have got to be kiddin'...this is my dress that was given to me for my birthday & is the most yummiest thing ever...made from a real vintage 1940's mail order pattern and the most sweetest feedsack styled fabric...adorned with the sweetest ric-rac ever! oh pure yummy-ness!sweet daddy-o searched and found an amazing lady...miss sassy Kathy of sew elegant dress making who took a vintage 40's pattern and created this 40's styled dream...just for me...she was soooo sweet and had the most fun re-creating! She was excited about this kittens style and let me tell ya...made a wonderful believer in me...she was pure joy, happy, and oooh so talented...what a purrrfect birthday surprise Daddy-o...this kitten had a very happy birthday to me day!

ooh...now our newest baby...his name is kein...and we are soo in love with this boy...take a peek...
our new dog is a boxer, which is our very favorite breed ever!...we have been waiting for him for over a year and now he is home...kein is a champion boxer and the sweetest most obedient boy ever...we are truly and instantly in love with him...and he and Daddy-o look so much a like...don'tcha think? hee hee...
so that is my birthday surprises and a few lil' goodies from Vegas & kein the doggy in the window...have a rocken' spring week... thanks for all of the sassy kittens who swing by my place and for your fun comments...i enjoy each and every one!...blessings cat~

Oh Cat, this must be the best Birthday you have EVER had! What will Daddy-O think up for next year?! He out did himeself and loves you to pieces! The DRESS is adorable Cat! I'm going to be 40 in September and I think I'm okay with it. Maybe as it gets closer I freak out a bit but so far so good. I try not to think about it too much.. LOL. Mostly I just feel really blessed to have made it this far. A lot of people don't get a chance to even live this long. I'm grateful for each and everyday that I'm here.

We are a boxer family also. Both my daughter's have boxers. My youngest daughter introduced the boxer to us.We all fell in love with her playful and sweet demeanor.She bread her and everyone wanted a puppy so now everyone does and the block she lives on has 5 boxer that live there. I will do a post on the dogs sometime soon. Your guy looks beautiful and strong, you did wait quite awhile for him. What a "HAPPY" birthday you had.I always enjoy reading your blog, it's wonderful.

HOW SWEET IS THAT?! I love it!. I just got a pattern for a '52 dress I can hardly wait to sew up! Butterick has reissued some of their old patterns. I'm spring cleaning her and need some music, so I decided to stop on by. Cleaning always is better wearing a vintage red gingham apron and dancing around to some good tunes!

I know it's been a while since your b-day. I hope you had a fabulous one. I just wanted to share this. When I was a child, my mom use to tell me that her mother use to have to make her dresses outta feed sacks cause they were so poor. A couple years ago, I found out how pretty the patterns on the feed sacks were. You can only imagine what went through a childs head when they heard such a thing. Sorta like walking uphill to school, both ways with no shoes in the middle of winter. She was a great woman, I miss her much. You brought back some nice thoughts, thank you.
