Cat!! I am so glad you enjoyed your prizes. I knew they would be seen for their true beauty by you. Anyone else may have thought I sent them "junk"! Let me tell you something about my Grandma Grace, the original owner of those bangles. She was trim in her early years (until around 50) and she had coal black hair and BRIGHT green eyes. She wore her hair like Ethel. She ALWAYS wore bright red lipstick, usually had a smoking cigarette in her well manicure fingers, and had the most distinctive little beauty mark on her upper left cheek bone just an inch under the outer corner of her eye. She wore pearls and earrings everyday. She kept her cigarettes in a beautiful holder (just like Lucy) and had dainty matching ash trays. I have all those in my hutch. She was a little wild in her child rearing days...spent alot of time at the local pub with all her friends, who along with her LOVED to dance. When she was about 40 years old, she gave her life to Jesus and never looked back. She was a strong woman of faith. She was killed in a car accident in 1991 at the age of 63. I miss her so much. I was very close to her. She was a wonderful Grandma. Now you know a little bit about her so when you screw on her earrings you can picture her. She would be honored that a Sassy-Rockin Vintage Gal like you was wearing her treasures!
I am posting tomorrow a wonderful treasure that this same Grandma Grace bought my mother when she first married. It was given to me by my mother yesterday. Stop by and see!!!
Love the clothespin bag...too cute!

Ohhh Cat... I just had to let you know that my beloved Mom used to have that EXACT Champion bag! I can remember helping her hang laundry and how I had to stand on an old wooden foot stool to reach the bag... ~ sighs ~ ... such sweet memories for me... Thank you for this post...

I just found your blog as I was surfing the internet for inspiration (I am getting ready to start sewing for LV Viva Las Vegas weekend!), and this entry required a comment. When my grandmother died two years ago, the one thing my daughter wanted of hers was her clothespin bag, which looks like yours minus the sweet design on it.
Thinking about the clothespin bag brought back wonderful memories of helping my grandmother hang out laundry in her backyard when I was a kiddo in the 60s...
I think you have a wonderful blog; your enthusiasm for life and being yourself is so very contagious and uplifting. I like that very much.
Thank you for sharing parts of your life!
Glad to have found our blog!
Hi Cat,
I think your blog and your life is amazing. You are so beautiful inside and (now that I've seen a pix) out.
Camping Sisters looks like such fun; and your husband is a treasure.
I have that clothespin bag in my laundry room right now (yikes, am I that old). Yes, it was wonderful laundry times, I miss the days of hanging clothes outside (condo situations don't allow it) but I have a 'rope' across my laundry area.(smile) Can't beat us oldies but goodies.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful life. By the way my 2 daughters watch reruns of Lucy and when little would put on 'skits' that Carol Burnett did for my husband (with God now) and I.
God Bless you and your family,
Jan
